Watch any James Bond or Jason Bourne film and you’re bound to see it – the cleverly hollowed out book that actually contains a gun, a laser, or even a security camera. Believe it or not, this spy fiction staple has become a reality, at least in the case of a security camera.
The High-Resolution Covert Book Spy Camera is exactly what it sounds like: an innocent looking book that actually contains a compartment for a surveillance device. The false book itself looks convincing enough to remain hidden on any bookshelf, yet not interesting enough for anybody to take it off the shelf and try to read it. The sensor on the outside of the book is less than a quarter of an inch in size, and it blends in perfectly with the cover. Inside the cover is a hollowed out space for the recording equipment, which consists of a 4.3mm lens, a microphone, and a battery connection. The lens records with an 80 degree viewing angle in 450 TVL quality, ensuring a clear and crisp result. The output format can be set to either NTSC or PAL, and the recorder has many different output attachments for playback on a variety of devices.
